2007 Prizegiving and Celebration

On Tuesday 10th July, we had our Annual Prizegiving and Celebration, hosted by Head Boy, Charlie Beckett and assisted by Deputy Head Boy, Jacob Lewis.  This year's Guest of Honour was our very own Chair of Governors, Mr Leo Coligan.  Mr Coligan presented the many prizes to the boys in categories from within - and outside - the classroom.

The choir sang a medley of songs by Rogers and Hammerstein, including 'You'll Never Walk Alone', which was very popular with Liverpudlian Mr Coligan (but not so popular with Evertonian Mr Wardle!). Colin Chen, the Music Prize winner, also treated us to a piece on the piano.

Our drama activities were represented by part of the casts of ‘Aladdin' and ‘A Grimm Night for Hans Christian Andersen', featuring everyone's favourite Ugly Duckling, Michael Barber.

All of the Year 6 boys received a photograph and yearbook and these were collected from Headmaster, Mr Brian Bennett, while the boys were singing ‘One More Step'.  There weren't too many dry eyes in the Williams Hall and many of the mums and dads who had turned up to the event needed tissues to dab their eyes.

The fantastic event was topped off by a lovely reception held in the beautifully decorated gym, allowing everyone to have a good old chat.

It was a truly memorable event - one that I'm sure the boys will remember for many years to come.  Congratulations to all of the prizewinners and, of course,  good luck to the boys in Year 6 as they embark on their journey - albeit not a large one - across the driveway to the senior school.  Come back and tell us how you are getting along!
