Hello everybody and welcome back to all regular readers.
If you have not visited my page before, here is a quick resume:
I have worked at Merchants since '87, they tell me, and when I began I was known as 'the token Youth' as all my colleagues were at least 150 years old. Now I am one of the more senior members of the team you can find me in the corner of the common room wearing a cardy with leather elbows, doing the Times Crossword while puffing at my pipe and muttering about standards.

When I started there were only four other colleagues in the Junior School, then known as 'The Prep' (a name which was usually accompanied with some eye rolling expression of impatience when uttered by a senior school colleague. Of course they now love us to bits.) Please look at the other profiles if you want to know how many we are now, frankly I haven't a clue.
I am the deputy head of the school, a Year 6 class teacher, curriculum co-ordinator as well as being in charge of games. This keeps me pretty well occupied most of the time, but when they let me out into the community from time to time I enjoy a bit of hill walking, running, golf, and visiting places with my lovely wife, Jackie. We favour the countryside for walks with our shambolic retriever, 'Monty', and live in deepest Hightown.
My daughter has asked me to say something nice about her this time so here goes: She is petite, blond (really), gorgeous, studying at university and a constant drain on my bank account. I knew I couldn't keep it up.
