At Merchant Taylors’ Junior School we believe that much of the learning takes place outside of the classroom. We encourage the boys to take part in a range of extra activities including:
- Computer Club
- Drama and Music
- Chess Club
- Art Club
- Brass Band
…and plenty more too!
Each year Year 4 go on an adventure holiday to Patterdale Hall in Cumbria. Year 6 visit Newlands Valley near Keswick. The boys experience a range of activities, such as canoeing and the dreaded ghyll scrambling – actually it’s good fun, if more than a little wet!!
We feel that it is important for boys to be given opportunities outside of the normal classroom environment and our extra-curricular programme provides something for everyone.
A draft timetable is shown below – it is liable to change due to a variety of reasons – mainly because I haven’t got a copy with me at home at the moment – please check back here in a couple of days.
(The school library is open and has supervision to allow boys to read at lunchtimes each day).
