2020vision Merchants Connected ArchivesHarvest Festival 2007
The boys and parents of the boys junior school made a superb contribution to our harvest service last week. They sent in bags and bags of useful groceries, which can be seen displayed at the front of the junior hall. We asked John, from the Basement Drop-In Centre, next to the Adelphi Hotel in Liverpool, to collect the gifts to use to give the homeless of Liverpool a good meal.
John ( a reformed drug addict ), now working to help similar people, spent ten minutes telling the boys about his clients, who are destitute usually due to alchohol addiction or from taking illegal drugs. He told us that these two problems could be problems for rich and poor alike - he had been dealing recently with a man who had been a multi-millionaire. He told us about the agencies he could refer people to, and of the problems addicts faced in trying to get back to normal life.
It is good we can help the caring work done by people like John. Once again, thank you for your support, from us at MTS junor boys, and John.
