Years 3 and 5 had a fabulous day making wonderful creations using Lego. George Bonner from Year 3 takes up the story...
Lego!
I woke up. I was excited. It was Lego day and I wanted to be the first in to school! I had been looking forward to this for weeks. A man had come to teach us how to build brilliant Lego models. He showed us how to build Lego roads, pools, train tracks and forests, windmills and a tall hotel. After watching him demonstrate and give us some hot tips, it was our turn to try....we went wild, absolutely Lego loopy!! Harvey, Archie, Richard and I worked together. We made a Lego city. There was a windmill and train tracks. Water ran under the track with an unlucky person trapped on top. We trapped him by sticking him on to the tracks. We built houses, cars, a football pitch and a swimming pool. We built a train that actually ran on the tracks (poor stuck man!!).
The best part of the day was having the chance to make our own models. The most impressive model that we made was a whole Lego forest. It had a house with a fenced off garden. The garden had trees and flowers. Next to it was the woods with more trees, plants and flowers. I really liked all the details in the models. It helped it look more realistic.
During the Lego demonstrations, there were working trains on tracks. Some of the trains fell off into the water, pushed off by other trains coming from behind. It was great fun to watch.
I had been really looking forward to Lego day. It was every bit as good as I had hoped and definitely lived up to my expectations. It was the best day at Junior School so far.

Edward Pope reports...
On Tuesday 28th June the Lego Man came to Merchant Taylors Junior Boys School. First he told us we were going to make towns. We got into groups and started. In my group there was Ben, Oliver Spencer, Luke Suarez, Daniel, Charlie and me. We made a town with a beach, a gift shop, two houses and a restaurant. Fifteen minutes later he gave us magnetic wires, a bulb and a battery to light up our buildings, and everyone did that successfully!
After that he gave us a train and a railway. We connected some more magnetic wires to the railway and then put the other side on the battery.
Then when we put the train on the track it would go around. The Lego man told us how to use the motors. We made 6 windmills and then I built a plane and we added motors. Our town looked brilliant and I really enjoyed making it. I thought lots of hard work went into it. After that the teachers took a photo of it. I would like the Lego man to come again!
