On Monday 8th October, M.T.S U10's rugby team played their first match of the season. The match was against our good old friends, Kirkham. We felt we needed to win to get our payback.
Kirkham won the toss and chose us to kick to them. After a couple of missed tackles, they got an early try and converted it. Two minutes later, they got another try and converted this successfully too. Soon after, with good pushing by our forwards, Max Hodkinson scored a try and converted it too.
A few minutes later, Marcus Millen had a good run and won us a penalty. James Owen took the penalty and scored a try. He successfully converted this, making the score 14-14 at half time.
Unfortunately, in the second half, we missed a few tackles and Kirkham took the lead again. We didn't give up and soon Charlie Horracks saw a space and scored a try which I successfully converted. The final score was 21-35 to Kirkham.
