Our most famous alumnus is Ben Kay, who has gone on to represent his country at every level and is a member of England's World Cup winning team. Ex-pupils have gone on to play rugby at various clubs and representative levels, including Neil Hunter who was a recent England schoolboy player.
Boys learn rugby from the age of seven. Skills are developed with tag rugby initially, quickly moving on to the nine-a-side version of the game. Contact skills are gradually introduced and the boys can play for the school team at Under 9 level (Year 4).
By Year 6 the game has moved on to 12-a-side, with 5-man scrums. The boys enjoy being part of the team and can be awarded colours at the end of the season.
