U10's cricket A team against Birkenhead - match report
On the 20th of June 2011, Merchant Taylors' U10 cricket A team played Birkenhead. The format of was game was 20-20. I won the toss and decided to bat. It was a nice sunny day.
Dan Dunne and I started well and Massimo and Oliver batted really well helping us to finish with a total of 76 runs. Oliver made 15 runs which included two magnificent fours!
Nathan started the bowling and bowled really well only giving two runs of two overs. Unfortunately Dan and I were rather expensive giving 31 runs between us. Our bowling let us down on this occasion.
Birkenhead managed to get our total with two overs to spare, having lost only four wickets.
We were very disappointed with our performance but were happy for our B team who managed to clinch a victory by two runs.
In this match our best batsman was Oliver Meadows, our best bowler was Lap Shun, our best fielder was Kunal Mahambrey and our best all round performance was from Oliver.
As this was our last game, we need to practice hard so that we can do better next season.
