U11 Football v King's School Chester

MTS 0 Chester 0

It was never going to be a classic with the wind blowing a gale across Hall Road and the temperature just a little short of arctic, and in the end the brand new goal nets were not even needed, after the groundstaff had battled heroically to attach them to the brand new goal posts.
Playing against the elements in the first half we rarely got out of our half, keeping out King's with some determined defending and the help of a post. Somehow we got to half-time on equal terms.
The second half began with our lads enjoying the territorial superiority but rarely threatening to break the deadlock. King's broke away dangerously and finished more strongly so a draw was the best we really deserved.
Our best player was again Oliver Meadows, who worked hard and provided the most telling passes. Of the others, Ben Coulthurst defended solidly, but many were below par and need to follow the advice of the coaching staff if the team is to improve performance and results.
