2020vision Merchants Connected ArchivesU11 Rugby Team win at Birkenhead - a report by Callum Richardson
Callum Richardson, as team captain, has written the following report on the recent match at Birkenhead.
On the 27th of November MTS U11 rugby team played Birkenhead in a real nail biter of a match. We had an inspirational team talk from Mr Youngson , which obviously showed when Matty Virtue scored an excellent try after running from the half way line to the try line. But Birkenhead responded with their first try. We then got two tries courtesy of Will Church who was lifted up and dunked over the line both times.
Some sloppy defending allowed Birkenhead another try, but it was too little too late as the final whistle went. The score was 21-14 to MTS. Harry Yip, our excellent kicker, converted all of the tries. Will Church, Patrick Haggerty, Matty Virtue and Greg Rawsthorne played well. Also Jack Brighton is to be commended for his great play in his first match.
Another great victory by our U11s. Well done lads!
