Miss Yardley with reception children
The Early Years Department is run by our dedicated and experienced staff who strive to create a happy, safe and caring environment in which the young mind will flourish under our specialised guidance.
We aim to encourage participation in a wide range of activities including dance, music, art, physical education and even baking in our own kitchen. We aim to make our pupils feel secure enough to communicate with any of our staff and express themselves clearly and cogently as the situation requires.
We work towards the accepted Early Learning Goals and encourage tolerance towards diversity by teaching, for example, a basic understanding and appreciation of the major world religions through the celebration in the classroom of some of the major festivals.

We aim to enrich and enhance the Early Year's curriculum by taking the children on outings to settings of educational interest relating to their study themes (Martin Mere, Tatton Hall Farm and Chester Zoo are tried and tested favourites).
Above all we encourage and assist each child to find happiness and self-fulfilment in their first schooling year which will assist them in their later career in the school and beyond to achieve their potential.
