The Friendship stop

Following the success of the buddy bench in the juniors the School Council recently bought a Friendship stop.

Children regularly fall out and feel like they have noone to play with,  its

stop

not usually a serious issue, with children forming new friendships easily and quickly.  However, a child can feel quite upset if they find themselves without a friend to play with.  This is where our playground pals and the friendship stop come in.

Any child in Reception, year 1 or year 2 who finds themselves alone can go to the stop and one of the 15 playground pals will come to the stop and help the child to find a game or an activity to join in with.

The pals can be easily identified by the bright yellow badges they wear with playground pal printed on it.  The girls and boys in year 2 who have been given this responsibility all understand their role and how important they are in our goal of making breaktimes and lunchtimes enjoyable for everybody.
