The Vikingsaga
Vikingasaga is a group of Living History reenactors who cover the period of history during which the Anglo-Saxons and Vikings lived in this country. The yare not a theatre group and do not use role play as a means of communication. They give an interactive lecture and demonstration. They use a large number of artefacts and dress in authentic period costume to bring this period alive for the children.
Most of the curriculum relating to the Vikings or Saxons is covered and the day has proved in the past to be interesting and enjoyable. Throughout the day the lifestyle of women and children; the daily life; food; cooking; what was used for making everyday items; trade; coin manufacture; manufacturer of cloth and clothing, and how it was coloured and decorated; weapons and armour.
