Lifesavers
Bronze Medallion
Aim - To establish competent levels of knowledge, understanding and practical ability in rescue situations.
This will include:-
- Understanding of Lifesaving-water safety, Survival in water and Rescue principals.
- Ability in Rescue skills- Casualty simulation, Casualty recognition, Initiative tests.
- Swimming strokes-Breast stroke, Back stroke and Side stroke
- Rescues-Reaching, Throwing, Wading, Non contact and Contact.
- Defensive techniques.
- Escape techniques
- Landings-Assisted and Unassisted

Life Support
Aim - To demonstrate an effective level of skills in life support and knowledge of the diagnosis and management of chocking, bleeding and shock.

This will include:-
- Awareness of own safety
- Assessing of responsiveness
- Summoning help
- Giving rescue breaths
- Combining chest compression (CPR) and rescue breathing
- Action for vomiting
- Recovery position
- Diagnosis and treatment of chocking, bleeding and shock
