Campaign Update

In August 2010 we launched a new era of fundraising and development for the Schools with our longer-term 2020 Vision plan and the current Sporting Start campaign.

Keep checking back so that you can see the progress of the campaign and how you can get involved. Regular updates will also appear in the Schools' newsletter Merchants' Tales.

As of January 2011 we have raised £354,713. This accounts for 17.7% of the overall 2020 target of £2million.

Why we need your support

We provide various levels of financial support (via bursaries, scholarships and discretionary assistance) to around 250 pupils each year. This costs the Schools over £1m per annum.

We need your help to fulfil this commitment. We simply cannot support as many pupils as we would like to, with existing resources.

Development of school buildings is vital to maintaining the best environment possible in which our pupils can learn. Your support with this important element of our 2020 Vision Plan is welcomed, as it lessens the financial burden on the Schools.

Ways to give:

One-off donations:

A form detailing payment methods can be down-loaded by clicking here or you can obtain a form from the Marketing & Development Office.

One-off donations can also be made on-line via our Charity Choice account by clicking on the DONATE NOW button powered by Charity Choice.

Regular payments:

A form to start making a regular donation is also available on the Schools' website, or from the Marketing & Development office.

N.B. This is an important source of sustainable income for the schools. If 1000 people gave £15 a month over 10 years and this amount was eligible for Gift Aid, we would achieve our target of £2m by 2020!

A Gift in Your Will:

If you notify us that you intend to leave the Schools a gift in your Will you will be given the option of joining the John Harrison Society. This special society is named in honour of our original great benefactor who founded the Schools, and it brings together those people who have chosen to support the schools in this way - by "treating us as part of the family".

An information sheet on leaving a gift in your Will can also be found on-line or by contacting the Marketing & Development Office.

Ideally we welcome unrestricted donations that can be directed at the discretion of the Governors, however if you have a preference for how you would like your gift to be directed, we would be delighted to discuss this with you.

For further information on any of the above payment methods, or to talk to somebody about making a donation, please contact the Marketing & Development Office on:
