The Infant section of the school is co-educational. The curriculum is wide and balanced to stimulate and encourage learning and great emphasis is placed on achieving a sound understanding of reading, writing and number work. At Stanfield we focus on each individual achieving his or her full potential. We stimulate curiosity and provide the knowledge and skills for each child to become an independent learner. Children work hard, become confident in their own ability and excited about their learning. Time is always available for those children who need extra support. Our aim is to see all our children flourish and discover their talents.
The Junior section of the school is single sex. The curriculum encompasses all subjects relating to Key Stage 2 of the National Curriculum usually reaching well beyond their basic requirements. Music, Drama, ICT, French and Sport are all taught by specialist staff. As they progress through the school, the girls take increasing ownership of their learning. They become sufficiently self-assured to push the boundaries for themselves and respond positively to the pace of learning set by the teachers. At the same time the curriculum is rigorously planned, teaching is well resourced, delivered with imagination and supported by a wide range of learning strategies.
