The lecture was attended by members of the Sixth Form of both Schools, as well as a number of invited guests.

Mr Field spoke broadly on the topic Gordon Brown and the Governance of Britain.  After a relatively short address, Mr Field widened the discussions by inviting questions from the audience, which provoked a wide range of interesting questions.

When asked to summarise the lecture, one pupil said:
Mr Field said his generation have done their bit for Britain, and now over to our generation.  Oh - and by the way, our inheritance is to solve global warming, 3rd world poverty and oil wars.  Just for starters.  It wasn't the happiest of scenarios, but it is sadly true, and certainly thought-provoking.
