Merchant Taylors’ Girls’ School has enjoyed record A level results. The pass rate remains at 99.6% but the number of A and B grades has increased dramatically from 73.6% to a record 79.5%. What is more, 54.1% of all grades are A grades.

There are some outstanding individual results with 8 girls achieving all A grades, 5 girls achieving a full house of 5 A grades and in total 26 girls gaining 3 A grades or more. All 6 Oxford and Cambridge candidates have achieved their dream.

Merchant Taylors’ Boys’ School enjoyed the same overall pass rate of 99.6% with 69.2% of all grades at A and B.

Merchants’ Boys was particularly pleased with its performance in the traditional subjects of Mathematics and the sciences with 88.9% achieving A and B at Chemistry.

Headmistress Mrs Louise Robinson said “This is a tremendous achievement for both girls and staff, and is testimony to their hard work and commitment over the last 2 years. Merchant Taylors’ Girls’ School continues to prove that it is a beacon of excellence for single sex academic tuition in the North West.”
