Assisted Places
The Governors provide a number of Assisted Places in the Senior Schools. School Assisted Places are available for pupils at 11+ who do well in the Entrance Examination but whose parents cannot afford full fees.
The assessment will normally be calculated as follows:
- The total income of both parents before tax from all sources for the tax year which ends immediately before the start of the School year is taken into account.
- An allowance of £1,745 for each dependent child (excluding the child in the scheme) is then deducted.
- Any assistance that is available from other sources (e.g. relatives) is included.
- Any assets held by the parents may also be considered.
- Parents have to provide proof of their total gross income - such as a P60, or audited accounts and self-assessment returns, together with confirmation from the Inland Revenue of the amount of tax due and paid.
- The income scales are revised each year to reflect inflation.
