Fieldwork at Merchant Taylors' Boys' School Geography Department

We took a group to the Alps in the summer. This was an eight day tour staying close to the resort of Chamonix
Year 7 Chester in April/May - combined trip with Classics. Geography work looks at the urban environment in Chester.
Year 8 River Yarrow, Lancashire in May. Study of the river processes operating on the river and the human effects on its surrounding area.
Year 9 Malham, Yorkshire Dales in September. Trip looks at the spectacular limestone landscape and the processes responsible for its formation. Also looks at the impact of tourist in the area.
Year 10 Lake District in April. Two day residential based around Grasmere. A day doing coursework based on the honeypot of Bowness, look at a range of issues affecting the settlement. Second day looking at the impact of glaciation on the Lake District.
Lower 6 Yorkshire in March. Three day trip preparing the AS students for their summer module. There is work carried out on the east coast, Hull and Beverley.
Lower 6 Ainsdale sand dunes in September. A study of the sand dune system leading to work to be carried out on a module in January of Lower 6.
