My name is Robbie Davies and I am the Catering Manager for Sodexo working at Merchant Taylors’ Boys’ School. I have worked with the School now for more than 10 years and have built up a good, strong and loyal catering team.
Sodexo have been Catering Managers in the Independent Schools sector for over 50 years and have an operating and support team dedicated to our 140 Independent Schools and we are proud to include Merchant Taylors’ in our portfolio.
We recognise the importance of constantly evolving and revitalising our services to ensure that we remain totally engaged with our customers. We actively seek and welcome feedback from parents, pupils and the School staff.
We keep in touch with all the pupils, either by attending assemblies, holding competitions, food forum groups and customer surveys. We are also actively involved in explaining the benefits of eating healthy and a good balanced diet. We have recently taken our knowledge into the classroom and held a number of interactive workshops, such as bread-making & growing.
To produce the best food you need the finest of ingredients. We use our experience and knowledge of the marketplace to deliver the best possible menus using the best available ingredients. For example, we use red tractor accreditation meat that is farm assured, numerous fair-trade products, marine stewardship council accredited fish and our fruit and vegetables are sourced based on seasonality to reflect our menus.
