Lower School

 

(Boys aged 11 - 14: Years 7 - 9)

During their first three years in the main school, pupils study National Curriculum subjects and a great deal more. All pupils will take English, Maths, Science (Biology, Chemistry and Physics, and as separate subjects from the second year), French, Latin, History, Geography, Art, Design and Technology, Music, Religious Studies, Physical Education and Swimming.

In addition, boys are introduced to the principles of Information Technology, some will take up German or Greek, whilst others learn Spanish and there are library skills courses during the first year.

However, perhaps the most important aspect of the Lower School is that boys acquire the habit of study: they learn to organise themselves and work independently.
