YOUR SUPPORT IS NEEDED!
As the parent or guardian of a Merchant Taylors’ pupil, you are automatically a member of the Parents’ Association which exists to encourage friendly relations between parents and School. The Committee of the Parents’ Association is a channel for communication of ideas concerning all aspects of school life. The Headmaster chairs the Association, which meets once a term, and our Executive Officer, Sarah Maitland, can be contacted if you have any questions, queries or suggestions on S.firstname.lastname@example.org. Your support is very much appreciated and The Parent’s Association is an exciting way to enhance the school community and engage with the wider school population. It has recently been re-branded and the meetings are now more like focus groups allowing parents the opportunities to talk to teaching specialists from around the school in an informal and relaxed environment.
As part of the Merchant Taylors’ Speakers Series, specialist speakers are invited to visit the school to talk to parents concerning the challenges their sons face as they grow up and develop. These will be tailored to the specific needs of year groups. Our expert speakers have included:
- Mr Dick Moore – Emotional Resilience in Teenage Boys
- Dr Abigail James – How Boys’ Schools Help Boys Learn
- Mr Karl Hopwood – Internet Safety
- Professor Sarah-Jayne Blakemore – The Teenage Brain
Details are posted on our website, facebook pages and twitter. Please come along to hear these experts.
