Science and Society Lectures at the University

On Tuesday 25 January 2011 Merchant Taylors' Middle School Physicists attended the first of this year's Science and Society lectures. Organised by the University of Liverpool, and delivered in the first class venue of the Victoria Building on Brownlow Hill, this is a sequence of high profile public lectures featuring some of the World's leading scientists. Professor Sine Larsen of the University of Copenhagen (pictured front) spoke of the impact of x-rays on society. Following the talk and shortly before joining the reception, we were happy to meet with Professors Samar Hasnain and Stephen Holloway for a photo-opportunity. With a Nobel Prize winner and a very well known mathematician to feature later in the series, we eagerly await the next event. We would like to thank all those who make these occasions possible.
