Music Competition 2009

Senior School Music Competition

This year's annual Music Competition took place on Tuesday 28th April. The adjudicator was Ruth Davies, oboist with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and Old Girl of Merchant Taylors' Girls' School.

The standard of performance from the girls was breathtaking and congratulations must be passed on to all those finalists who took part.

Becky Copping won the Senior Music Competition, singing Bonvica's Song by Purcell and Pramudi Wijayasiri won the Middle School Music Competition on the Piano, playing Mozart's Rondo Alla Turca.

The runner-up in the Senior School was Elizabeth Bramhall on the Violin, playing Czardas by Monti. The Middle School runner-up was Emma Dryden on the Viola, playing Concerto in G Major, 2nd Movement by Telemann.

You will have an opportunity to hear some of the finalists perform at the Summer Concert on 2nd July.
