Courses at MTGS
Music is taught at KS3 and offered as an option at GCSE, and A-level with a tradition of excellent results.

Instrumental Lessons
Instrumental lessons are taught by a team of professional staff and are offered on a wide range of instruments, including:

Concerts and Competitions
Each year we have Christmas and Summer Concerts, held in the Centenary Hall and Prize Giving in the Philharmonic Hall. In 2008 our Joint Schools' Christmas Concert was held in the fabulous Liverpool Cathedral. The Music Competition
Each year we host our in-house Music Competition. Standards are always exceptionally high and are another indication of the wealth of talent we have.
Extra Curricular Activity
The department offers a wide range of extra-curricular activities, including:
- Senior Orchestra

- Senior Choir
- Middle School Choir
- Senior Chamber Choir (entrance by audition only)
- Middle School Chamber Choir (entrance by audition only)
- Flute Ensembles
- Clarinet Ensembles

The Music Committee
The Music Committee is run by Sixth Formers.
Their lunchtime concert series, 'Live Lounge' is a huge success.
Associated Board Examinations
Each term, girls are encouraged to sit Associated Board Examinations with some excellent results. The exams usually take place in the Music Department so no need to travel far.
