Patrick Hawes Workshop and Talk

We had a fantastic day with Patrick. He's a lovely person, very entertaining, interesting and easy to get on with. Ours was the first of the series, involving about 30 schools from all over the country. He gives a workshop at each school where he listens to different compositions. He then chooses the best from each school and enters it into a competition, the winner of which will be aired on Classic fm.

The Talk

The talk was excellent - again very interesting and entertaining. Patrick talked to an audience consisting of students from three schools, Merchant Taylors' Girls' School, Holy Family Catholic High School and Ormskirk School, parents and friends of Merchant Taylors'. Patrick talked about composing for the piano and played several of his compositions. During the interval, he talked to members of the audience. He also gave a question and answer session after the interval. The afternoon was enjoyed by all.
