Richard Meyrick

Recently 'Pianoman' Richard Meyrick gave a piano master class for 6 students in front of an audience made up of lower school pupils and musicians of all ages from the Senior Girls' and Boys' Schools, Holy Family Catholic High School and South Sefton Sixth Form College.

Year 10 Fiona Cary was the third student to play. She performed Rondo Presto from Sonata in Ab by Haydn. Following her master class session, during the interval, Richard offered Fiona a scholarship for some all expenses paid lessons with him at his Piano Studio in the heart of London.

Students at The Piano Studio have the privilege of receiving their piano lessons on a new concert grand and there is the opportunity to participate in recitals at the Bluthner Piano Centre in Mayfair.

The day culminated in one of Richard's fantastic evening performances to girls, staff, parents and invited guests.

Director of Music Mrs Thompson said "Fiona is a very talented young musician and has been very lucky to be given such a wonderful opportunity with an international concert pianist such as Richard."
