Sefton Super Reads 2011
A group of dedicated year 8’s read their way through the six books for Sefton Super Reads. All the schools in Sefton education Authority can take part in this programme and the books are chosen by the school librarians.This years books were

The girls are pictured here with the author Ellen Renner who was one of the three authors who attended the event and spoke about their work.The eventual winner was local Wirral author John Mayhew with his fantasy story, Mortlock.

National Poetry Day - October 2010
This fell on a busy day for school as it was also Open Evening. However a few stalwarts read an eclectic choice of poems and Mr Lamb nearly read one of his own - he has promised to give it a go next year.

Junior Harrison Group
Each year has its own book group who meet to discuss their book usually over a nice lunch in the Library. Currently the Year 7 group is reading the fantasy Stardust by Neil Gaiman. The Year 8s are comparing two second world war books, Hitler's Canary by Sandi Toksvig set in Denmark and the Diary of Anne Frank in Holland. The Year 9s are reading the ghost story, The Woman in Black by Susan Hill.
