Mrs A. Barry

The Library is housed in a significant historic building, situated right at the heart of the school. The department provides expertise in discrete information skills as well as promoting a cross-curricular approach to learning throughout the whole school community.

Students will leave the school with a mature approach to research and be well prepared for further and higher education where independent learning and information and communication technology are skills vital to their success

Sixth Form Library Committee – One of the core sixth form committees without which the library would not run smoothly.

Staff Library Committee – One member from each department sits on this committee and together we make decisions regarding purchases of stock for the library and suggestions for reading lists.

Aims and Objectives – The department helps teachers, administrative staff and students to access the information they need to achieve success in a range of educational settings. To do this the department provides training so that staff and students can become skilled professionals and independent learners. Both staff and students are consulted through committees, in particular the Sixth Form Library Committee.

The library catalogue can be searched from any computer on the school academic network.
