The Modern Languages Department is a highly successful and forward thinking department which combines traditional language teaching methodology with the latest technology. We pride ourselves on achieving consistently outstanding external examination results across all three Modern Languages at GCSE and A level.
The department is based in four self–contained classrooms and one small conversation room. There are also weekly grammar clinics to help girls improve their linguistic competence.
The department organises biannual trips to Paris and 6th form students have the opportunity to undertake work experience in France, Germany and Spain. Girls are able to use ipods for listening work in class and the department uses the latest online resources to enhance and complement language acquisi on in all year groups.
We organise numerous language based-activities such as plays, cultural events and quizzes. Furthermore all girls from years 10 to 13 have supplementary conversation classes to develop their spoken fluency.
