Extra Curricular Activities
Towards teamwork and leadership
The extra-curricular programme is one of the school's strengths. Pupils are encouraged to develop their existing skills and to try new ventures. Most clubs and societies meet at lunchtimes so that everyone has the opportunity to be a part whether they live close to the school or not.
All new pupils are encouraged to learn to play a musical instrument or to sing which ensures a steady stream of musicians into the two orchestras and five choirs.
The school enjoys an excellent reputation locally and nationally in a number of sports, in particular, hockey, netball, tennis, athletics and swimming.
The Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme is popular with some 50 girls each year working towards Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards.
Sailing - Pupils have the opportunity to sail whilst at MTGS, using the facilities of both Crosby and Southport Marinas.
We currently encourage pupils from the 5th and 6th forms to apply to participate in the London Sailing Projects
