Geography is a lively and popular subject at MTGS. It is taught in a suite of 3 rooms in the Lower Thompson Building and has access to the adjacent garden.

The Geography Department
There are 3 staff who teach Geography: Mrs Mason is the Head of Department and also a member of the Pastoral Support Team, Mrs Peppin is Second in Department and also Head of Sixth Form, whilst Mrs Hames teaches for 3 days a week and is the Eco Schools Coordinator.
Geography is taught in a variety of ways from the formal to role play, group work and decision-making exercises. Girls are encouraged to use ICT in their investigative work and coursework whilst fieldwork plays a prominent role in all years.
A system of rewards is used for excellent work and independent research which is displayed in the teaching rooms.
Results at both A level and GCSE are always excellent. Many girls continue with the subject at University, including regular Oxford and Cambridge success.
