Merchant Taylors' Schools' Boat Club is based in Southport and many girls and boys relish the opportunity to learn to row on the Marine Lake. As well as many novices, some students are very dedicated athletes and every year Merchant Taylors successfully enters numerous regattas and head races all over the country, at Henley-on-Thames, Nottingham, and Hexham to name but a few. The Boat Club has even been to Seville for a week-long training camp!
Below are some pictures of the open day that the Rowing Club held in Southport. The turn out was great and it was particularly encouraging to see so many of the younger students there; ready to 'take the helm' in the future from the fantastic rowers the school currently has.
