Summer Cricket Camp 2025

This August, we’re thrilled to host a two-day Cricket Camp led by Gary Yates, former Director of the Lancashire CC Academy, alongside Simon Sutcliffe, former Head of Cricket at Merchant Taylors’. Together, they bring decades of top-level coaching experience to inspire the next generation of cricketers.

Open to boys and girls aged 8 to 14, the camp is ideal for both beginners and more experienced players. Across the two days, participants will develop their skills in all key areas of the game, with a particular focus on seam and spin bowling, fielding drills, and batting techniques.

Dates: Thursday 14th and Friday 15th August 2025
Time: 9.30am – 3.30pm each day
Location: Merchant Taylors’ School, Harrison Site
Cost: £36 per day or £60 for both days

Throughout the two-day camp, participants will develop key cricketing skills in a structured and enjoyable environment, including:

Batting techniques – from shot selection to playing spin and pace

Bowling skills – focusing on seam and spin, with an emphasis on accuracy and control

Fielding drills – including catching, throwing and positioning

Tactical awareness – learning how to read the game and make informed decisions

Confidence building – encouraging teamwork, focus and self-belief on the field
