Home to School Bus Service
Merchant Taylors’ offers a comprehensive Home to School Bus Service each morning and afternoon. Our network covers a wide catchment area, ranging from Warrington, Widnes, Wigan and South Liverpool to Parbold, Ormskirk, Formby and Southport.
The service is available to all pupils aged 4 to 18 and is managed in partnership with StudentSafe, a specialist school transport provider, and our trusted local bus operators. All drivers are DBS approved and, wherever possible, remain the dedicated driver for their route.
Routes, journey times and pick-up locations are reviewed regularly to ensure we continue to provide a safe, reliable and convenient service. We are also happy to consider new routes where there is sufficient demand from a particular area.

Places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Payment for termly bookings is made directly to StudentSafe at the time of booking.

StudentSafe Parent App
Parents can manage their child’s transport arrangements through the StudentSafe Parent App. The app allows you to:
- Track bus services in real time
- Receive confirmation when your child boards and leaves the bus
- Receive alerts about delays or service disruptions
- Manage and amend bookings
- Book additional journeys, subject to availability
- View routes, stops and journey information
The app is available from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. A StudentSafe Parent App User Guide is also available to download.
Medical Information
If your child has a severe or life-threatening medical condition that may require emergency assistance, such as diabetes or a severe food allergy, please notify StudentSafe. This allows the appropriate information to be shared with relevant staff and bus operators in the event of an emergency.
