Sixth Form at Merchant Taylors’ brings together everything that is good about post-16 education, with a broad range of academic, co-curricular and social opportunities for students to explore.
While our Girls’ and Boys’ Schools each have their own respective Sixth Forms, based on separate sites, there are also a number of opportunities for joint teaching and a wide range of activities beyond the classroom where the two sets of students are able to work more closely together.
Throughout our Sixth Form Open Evening, we hope you will see that we are proud of our record of academic achievement at A Level as well as the various enrichment and co-curricular opportunities that our Sixth Form students enjoy.
Indeed, among a combined cohort of 115 pupils in 2021, almost two-thirds of all grades awarded were at A*-A, while more than three quarters were grade A*-B.
A total of fifteen boys and girls, equivalent to 13% of the collective year group, achieved straight A* grades across a range of subjects including Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Maths, History, English, German and Latin. Almost 95% of all students are leaving to take up university places across the UK and beyond, including two to Oxbridge colleges.
We extend the same warm welcome to students who are already part of the school community and those who are new to the school. All we ask is that you bring hungry, enquiring minds and a love of independent learning; in return we can offer you an excellent academic education delivered by subject specialists in small class sizes, alongside first-class support and guidance.
