About Sixth Form
At the heart of our newly developed Sixth Form Centre, located on the Harrison site, the purpose-built facility provides a dedicated space where pupils can learn, study, collaborate and socialise, offering both a sanctuary for focused academic work and a relaxed setting to unwind with friends.
We are proud of our outstanding record of academic achievement at A Level. With more than two-thirds of all grades awarded at A*-B, our results are unrivalled in the local area. This success enables the vast majority of our pupils to progress to their first-choice universities or other prestigious institutions. Beyond the classroom, our Sixth Formers enjoy a rich and varied co-curricular life. Activities such as the Combined Cadet Force, joint drama productions, and music ensembles provide opportunities to work collaboratively, take on leadership roles, and build friendships across year groups. Our extensive sports programme includes access to state-of-the-art facilities, including a fitness suite, climbing wall, and sports hall, as well as large playing fields and a share in the international-standard Astroturf at the Northern Club. Competitive fixtures are held regularly against other leading schools in rugby, rowing, football, cricket, hockey, athletics and more.
Pastoral care is central to our Sixth Form experience. Every pupil is known and valued, not just by name, but for their interests, aspirations and individual needs. Our small teaching groups and personalised support ensure that pupils feel confident, cared for, and empowered to succeed. There is a genuine sense of community here, where pupils support one another and staff are always on hand to listen and guide.
We extend a warm welcome to both existing pupils and those joining us from other schools. All we ask is that pupils bring with them a curious mind and a passion for independent learning. Our Sixth Form Centre also includes a dedicated ICT suite and quiet study area, available throughout the day to support A Level study. An informal seating zone and entertainment space provide a comfortable environment for relaxation and socialising during free periods.
We are equally proud of the food we serve. Our catering partners, Chartwells Independent, offer a daily menu of hot meals inspired by global cuisine, alongside a fresh salad bar, deli counter, and handmade desserts, all served in our beautifully refurbished dining room. Sixth Formers also have the freedom to leave the School site at lunchtime to enjoy local cafés and shops.
