Unrivalled Facilities

Stanfield Preparatory School offers an unparalleled range of facilities and learning environment. Our school is a vibrant, modern space full of colour and life, where the personalities of our children ooze from every corner.

Following a major £5 million redevelopment, our school boasts state-of-the-art teaching rooms, an outstanding unit for our pupils in Reception, a specialist Art and Science room and a Music studio.

Our newly developed outdoor space includes a large wooden play area, outdoor classrooms, sensory zone, climbing wall and multi-use games area (MUGA).

In addition to  and spacious hall, the children use shared facilities including the magnificent Sports Centre and playing fields at the Boys’ School, the extensive sports ground at Hall Road and the AstroTurf at the local Northern Club.

By sharing facilities with our Senior School colleagues, we offer many extras that are not available to many primary schools. Not only do we use their science laboratories for exciting projects or the kiln for pottery, but we also share teaching expertise across the curriculum. This also builds familiarity which supports a smoother transition for children at Year 6.

Year 5 are exploring a range of Shakespeare texts Year 5 are exploring a range of Shakespeare texts in English this half term, deepening their understanding of language, rhythm, and performance.

In their latest lesson, pupils learned about iambic pentameter, a key feature of Shakespeare’s writing, and practised using it with a line from As You Like It:

“What passion hangs these weights upon my tongue?” (Act 1, Scene 2)

By speaking the line aloud in iambic rhythm, they began to appreciate the structure and flow that gives Shakespeare’s work its distinct poetic quality.
We are incredibly proud to share that Year 10 pupi We are incredibly proud to share that Year 10 pupil, Nayna, will be performing with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra at the BBC Proms in August 2025 at the Royal Albert Hall, conducted by Domingo Hindoyan.

Nayna is one of eight musicians selected from the Liverpool Philharmonic Youth Company to play percussion in this prestigious concert, where she will perform Blue Cathedral by Jennifer Higdon. She will also appear with the orchestra again in September at the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall.

This is a tremendous honour and a reflection of Nayna’s dedication, talent, and commitment to her musical development.

Many of our pupils are involved in the Liverpool Philharmonic Youth Company and national music organisations. These opportunities allow them to take what they have learned at school into inspiring, professional settings - making music alongside talented young people from across the country and under the direction of world-class musicians.
Our Year 2 pupils have been getting to grips with Our Year 2 pupils have been getting to grips with the world of chess this week, learning how to think ahead, stay focused, and enjoy the challenge of this classic game.

Whether complete beginners or picking up where they left off, the children showed great enthusiasm and curiosity as they explored new strategies and practiced their moves with friends.

It’s a fantastic way to build confidence and concentration as they prepare to transition into the Junior School - and who knows, we may have a few future grandmasters among them!
On Thursday, pupils from Reception to Year 6 took On Thursday, pupils from Reception to Year 6 took part in a powerful workshop with the Anti-Bullying Alliance.

Through interactive activities and thoughtful discussion, pupils explored what bullying looks like, how it can impact others, and how they can play a role in preventing it.

From our youngest learners to our oldest, everyone was reminded of the importance of kindness, empathy and speaking up; values we champion every day at Stanfield.
