The provision of bursaries is a central aspect of the purpose of our school ethos. We always have and will continue to assist academically able boys and girls, no matter their financial circumstances, and to broaden access to our school.

Giving is not a new concept for us; we were founded thanks to a generous legacy and the generosity of benefactors has contributed to many hundreds of bursary pupils passing through the School over the centuries. We believe that now is the time to truly embed giving in the very fabric of our School, as we enter the next stages of the Merchant Taylors’ journey. Our aim is to double the number of new bursary places we can offer each year by 2025, with the help of our generous Merchants community. What could be more powerful, more impactful, than the gift of a Merchants’ education?

Bursaries can range in value up to and including 100% of fees, depending on a family’s financial circumstances. They are available to pupils applying for September admission at our Senior Schools for Year 7 and Sixth Form (Year 12).

All bursaries are means-tested and are underpinned by a rigorous review process which includes a compulsory home visit. If you would like to be considered for a Bursary please click on the link below.
