Year 6 Evacuee Day
Last week our Year 6 girls were WW2 evacuees for the day!
The girls arrived at school in their costumes and were equipped with a gas mask box as well as snacks and toys for their long journey ahead. After arriving at the ‘train station’ and travelling to their new destination, the billeting officers (Miss Copping and Mrs Curwen) assigned each child to their new ‘foster’ family.
For the rest of the day the girls wrote letters home to their mothers and made their very own gas masks. The girls really immersed themselves into the experience and had a fantastic day. Thank you to the Year 6 parents for providing wonderful costumes and props.
