About Seniors
Merchant Taylors’ Senior School has been shaping young minds since 1620. Today, as a co-educational community, we continue that proud tradition, offering an outstanding academic education, a rich co-curricular programme, and a nurturing environment where every pupil is encouraged to thrive.
From the moment pupils join us in Year 7, they are welcomed into a vibrant and inclusive school where curiosity is celebrated, individuality is respected, and ambition is nurtured. We help each young person discover their unique strengths and support them in unlocking their full potential, academically, socially, and personally.
Our pupils flourish both in and beyond the classroom. Whether it is through the Combined Cadet Force, national competitions, major drama productions, music ensembles, or team sports such as rugby, netball, hockey, and cricket, there are countless opportunities to explore new interests, build confidence, and develop lifelong skills.
At the heart of our school is a deep sense of care and connection. Our dedicated teachers and professional services staff form strong, lasting relationships with pupils, guiding them through every stage of their journey. These bonds often extend well beyond school life, with many alumni returning to offer careers advice, mentoring, and support through our bursary programme, ensuring that a Merchant Taylors’ education remains accessible to future generations.
Our pupils leave us as articulate, compassionate, and confident young people, ready to lead, contribute, and succeed in a rapidly changing world.
This is an exciting time to join Merchant Taylors’. While our website offers a wealth of information, nothing compares to experiencing our school in person. We warmly invite you to arrange a personal tour or attend one of our Open Events to meet our pupils and staff and discover what makes our school so special.
We look forward to welcoming you and your family to the next chapter of the Merchant Taylors’ story.
