Instrumental Taster Evening 2021

We are delighted to invite Year 7 and Year 8 to attend Merchant Taylors’ Boys’ School for our Instrumental Taster Evening 2021. Across the two evenings, you will see some of the finest instrumental teachers in the North West and beyond who, as part of our team, will teach your son to play just about any musical instrument.

Following an introduction from the Head of Performing Arts, Mr Chris Harrison, the Teachers listed below will introduce you to their instruments and give a performance on their instrument(s). Following this short concert, we encourage students to talk with the teachers and have a short demo of what it’s like to play the instrument of their interest.

Whether your son has a keen interest in learning an instrument or not, we strongly recommend you consider attending this event. The exposure to such fantastic playing, the opportunity to talk to the teachers and to try the instruments often unearths a new-found passion for music.

We very much look forward to welcoming you to the Music School. Should you be unable to make either of the nights or you wish to revisit one of the performances from the Teachers, the event will be recorded and distributed shortly after on FireFly.
