Netball Scholarship Assessment Day

Netball at Merchant Taylors’ is one of our flagship sports, with a proud record of success at local, regional, and national level. Our players benefit from high-quality coaching, a clear development pathway, and regular competition against strong opposition. Many progress to county, pathway, and franchise programmes, reflecting the strength, ambition, and depth of our netball provision.

Our Netball Scholarship Assessment Day gives prospective players the chance to experience this environment first-hand and demonstrate their potential.

The day will begin with a welcome from the Director of Sport and the Headmaster, followed by a full schedule of activities designed to assess skill, athleticism, and game understanding:

• Athletic screening and fitness testing
• Technical and sport-specific skills, including ball-handling, movement, and decision-making
• Unit skills and positional play
• Match play and game-based scenarios

Candidates will enjoy lunch with the Sports Department, before finishing with a closing talk outlining the next steps. Pupils will then be invited back for a follow-up interview later in December.
