Pupils learn from KnifeSavers talk

We were delighted to welcome Consultant Surgeon and KnifeSavers founder Dr Nikhil Misra to Merchant Taylors’ for a talk which focused on educating and empowering pupils on how to treat life threatening knife injuries.

Old Crosbeian Dr Misra informed pupils that after being stabbed, a person can bleed to death in just 5 minutes whilst a rapid response ambulance can often take around 7 minutes to arrive at the scene, meaning the need for controlling bleeding is critical in order to preserve a life.

Dr Misra also showcased how we can help deal with bleeding caused by knife injuries through Bleed Control Kits. These kits have been designed to provide real-time assistance to those who are dealing with bleeding from a knife wound, giving them high quality, life-saving equipment.
