Merchant Taylors’ Pupils Celebrate Excellent GCSE Results
Merchant Taylors’ pupils are celebrating after achieving excellent GCSE results once again.
This year’s cohort has been rewarded for their hard work and commitment, with results that reflect both individual success stories and collective achievement. 11% of all grades awarded were at the top grade 9, and almost a quarter (24%) were at grades 9–8, underlining the ambition and academic strength of this year’s pupils. In addition, 45% of all grades achieved were at 9–7, while 14 pupils achieved a full set of grades solely between 9 and 7, a remarkable accomplishment.
There were a number of exceptional individual performances. William C achieved an outstanding ten grade 9s, while Anya J, Abi P and Anju R each secured eight grade 9s and one grade 8. Nadia H also achieved an impressive seven grade 9s alongside two grade 8s.
Other notable successes included Danil B with six grade 9s, two grade 8s and one grade 7; Charlotte R with five grade 9s and four grade 8s; Matthias C and Leela S, who each achieved five grade 9s, three grade 8s and one grade 6; and Casper K with five grade 9s, two grade 8s, one grade 7 and one grade 6.
Headmaster Mr Phil Dearden offered his congratulations to pupils:
“As I begin my first week as Head at Merchant Taylors’, I am delighted to join the school community in celebrating the hard work and determination of our GCSE pupils. Their excellent results are a testament to the commitment they have shown to their studies, supported throughout by our dedicated teachers and their families.
“The breadth of success across so many subjects highlights the strength of provision at Merchant Taylors’ and the high standards that are set across the school. These results demonstrate the perseverance, character and drive shown by our pupils throughout their studies, and the positive attitude with which they have approached this important stage in their education.
“While public examinations are an important milestone, they represent only one part of each young person’s journey. These results provide a strong foundation for the next stage of their education, and we are excited to see them build on this success in the years ahead.
“This is a day of great pride for our pupils, and I look forward to seeing all that they will go on to accomplish in the future.”
Building on the success of last week’s A Level results, today’s GCSE achievements highlight not only the talent of our pupils but also their determination to excel and the high standards that define Merchant Taylors’.
