Lower School Pastoral Care

Moving to Senior School is an exciting time full of new experiences, new friends and new aspirations. We understand, however, that it can also be a daunting and uncertain time for many boys, no matter which school they join us from, and our Lower School team is particularly adept at helping boys to transition into school from Year 7 onwards.

From the moment boys walk through our doors, we do all we can to help them feel comfortable, secure and happy. Our friendly and supportive school community is designed to help boys achieve their very best and enjoy their journey through our school.

The first line of contact for boys is their form tutors, whom they see twice a day for registration and three times per week for form periods and Personal, Social and Health Education (PSHE) lessons, which cover topics such as mental health, online safety, substance abuse and bullying.

We have group tutors who are highly-experienced pastoral leaders with training in child safeguarding, who ensure the pastoral care activity is tailored to the needs of children within their designated section. They work alongside a wider pastoral team, including our school counsellor, who is available to provide professional, impartial advice on all manner of issues that may arise inside or outside school.

After completing the theory aspect during online lessons, the return to school meant they could undertake the practical element together. 🎇
