As boys move into Year 10, they begin to mature as individuals and must also look ahead to their first series of external examinations in Year 11.
Preparation for GCSEs invariably begins towards the end of Year 9 as we endeavour to reduce the pressure on boys and give them ample time to study all elements of their respective courses.
Our approach is to develop close, honest relationships between boys, parents and teaching staff to ensure that they feel supported whenever they need it and that any issues or problems are dealt with quickly and effectively.
Our team of highly-experienced Middle School group tutors are able to tailor pastoral care towards the individuals needs of boys in their section. We aim to foster a sense of pride and dedication in their academic study and wider pursuits, placing their happiness and wellbeing at the centre of everything we do together.
From the outset, boys are taught what it means to be a pupil at Merchant Taylors’ and the standards of behaviour, hard work and commitment that we expect of them.
