Learning Support

At Merchant Taylors’ we strive to provide a caring and supportive environment for each of our pupils. We aim to develop self-esteem, confidence and resilience as well as addressing the needs of the whole child. We recognise pupils of all abilities may experience obstacles to learning and we treat each child as an individual, providing them with personalised learning and the support they require to flourish and achieve their maximum potential.

We believe in a pupil-centred approach and liaise closely with your daughter, yourselves and her teachers to ensure we provide a bespoke learning environment.

Provision for our pupils include:

• All teaching staff have knowledge of personalised strategies which work best for your daughter in the class room.
• 1:1 support lessons with Specialist Teachers, targeting specific areas of need for your daughter.
• Small group focused interventions with Specialist Teachers, addressing difficulties in specific areas of literacy, numeracy and study skills.
• Internal diagnostic assessments completed by our Specialist Teachers
